GLS Capital announced that David Spiegel, a managing director at the firm, has been ranked as one of Leaders League’s top U.S. litigation funders for 2023.
Leaders League, an international ratings agency and business services company, lists Spiegel as “highly recommended” for Dispute Resolution – Litigation and Dispute Resolution – Arbitration.
A co-founder of GLS Capital, Spiegel leads the firm’s commercial litigation and arbitration-related investing. His experience includes originating, underwriting, and managing litigation finance investments related to claims of breach of contract, fraudulent conveyance, antitrust, judgment enforcement, and investor-state arbitration, among other matters. He also has consulted and testified as an expert in high-profile disputes regarding the valuation of litigation assets.
Previously, Spiegel led investment teams at the world’s two largest litigation finance firms. Before his litigation finance work, he was a litigator in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis, where he represented clients in a wide array of industries. Spiegel earned his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He also holds a Master of Science from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University.
